Head boy and girl do Standish Proud

Standish Community High School would like to offer a massive congratulations and thank you to our fantastic Head boy and Head girl team this year, Molly Murray and Tom Burton. Both students have done exceptionally well in their GCSEs – achieving an astonishing four Grade 7s, five Grade 8s and eight Grade 9s between them. All this on top of representing the school at a host of key events such as Parents’ Evenings, Open Evenings, Interviews, visits and school tours, as well as helping to organise the Leavers’ Celebrations for their peers. Along side the Deputy Head girl and boy, Lucy White and Jack Pay, the team have served the school with distinction – a fact further emphasised by Molly being highly commended at the Wigan Observer Education Awards this year in the category of Secondary School Student of the Year! “It’s been an absolute pleasure working with these four young people this year,” said Mrs Barker, Head of School. “They have been such positive role models for all the students here at Standish.”
