Talent galore

After shooting to fame on Britain’s Got Talent, Standish Community High School student Henry Gallagher has proved his talent in the examination hall too this summer by achieving an outstanding set of exam results. Henry, who was a finalist on ITV’s flagship talent show and also made the final of CBBC’s ‘Got What It Takes’, achieved some of the best results in the entire year group – despite sitting the majority of his exams a year early! Henry achieved 6 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7 – but even amongst these stellar results it is mathematics where Henry truly shines. Henry sat his GCSE in maths two years ago – achieving an A* – and moved on to his AS Level last year where he scored yet another A*. This meant that, on top of his other GCSES, Henry was able to sit his full A Level in Maths this summer and achieved yet another A*! Mrs Roberts, Head of Maths at Standish, said, “Henry’s achievements are absolutely fantastic. We’re always so proud to be able to challenge and encourage students – no matter how talented – to achieve their very best and Henry has certainly done that!”
